Just wanted to say congratulations and well done, not just the Olympic Gold, but showing the world we produce not only great athletes, but ambassadors of sport. I had the pleasure of watching the first 200m Olympic race’s. Not only was the atmosphere electric in the Eton Dorney stands, but all around the area.
Watching the final the following day on the television was an inspiration to my son and myself, with both kayaking with a local club.
Thanks and all the best for the future.
Dear Ed
I just wanted to say a massive thanks for all your help filming at Lea Valley yesterday. It was an honour to meet you and we all really appreciated your time and thoughts. THANKS.
It was a added bonus for us all to get a quick pic with you and your medal – so exciting to meet a real champion from the Summer of 2012.
All the very best with your training and good luck for Rio 2016
Cheers

Between 1996 and 1998, I worked with your father at Bath & North East Somerset Council. Back then, when you were but a youngster, he was always telling us what you were doing, where he was taking you for your next competition and then how well you had done. He was always so proud of you. Many years and much water have passed under the bridge since those days but to now watch you on the TV this morning, achieve what must be a career lifetime achievement so far, your Mum and Dad and family not least to say yourself, must be so proud of you.
Congratulations to you and I wish you further success in both your professional and sporting careers with many more awards to come. Please pass on my regards also to your father.

CONGRATULATIONS Ed and Bradford on Avon Canoe Club. GOLD today. You are our champion!
Just had to say ‘CONGRATULATIONS’ on your fantastic, superb performance in winning the gold medal today. You were absolutely sensational and it was such a joy to watch. They say nice guys don’t win but you have certainly proved that wrong. Your immediate post race interview was one of the nicest my wife and I have seen at this Olympics. You appear such a lovely, charming, unassuming guy who thoroughly deserves all the rewards you get.
Thank you for all your hard work and efforts in helping us feel so proud to be British. May we wish you every success for the future. You are not just an Olympic champion, you’re also a Champion bloke!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!
Congratulations Ed. Great job, you made that look easy.
